Summary of Job Purpose

 

 

A Repair/Demo Shop Technician performs all technical duties inherent in the repair/demo shop as well as being instrumental as a sale associate. It is very important for this position to establish rapport with guests, provide accurate information, and promote product through successful sales.  Technicians need to identify how individual products and services can improve guest’s experience. A candidate for this position is someone looking to grow in both skill and knowledge in this industry.

  • Acknowledge customers quickly and courteously.
  • Determine customer equipment needs; fit equipment to skill level, proper mounting and binding adjusting, boot fitting, tuning and repairing customer equipment and demos according to established guidelines.
  • Resolve customer problems efficiently and tactfully. 
  • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork neatly and accurately.
  • Comply with all area and industry procedures and regulations.
  • Be able to pass all certification requirements. 
  • Maintain a tremendous level of organization and cleanliness; adhering to and accountable for the proper care, storage and safety procedures regarding the use of tools and equipment
  • Operate Point Of Sale system..
  • Sell all aspects of winter sports equipment.
  • Attend sales and training clinics.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Shoveling snow after a storm, or maintaining the entrance of facilities.
  • Have a willingness to help out in other departments, particularly the Rental Center, as needed.
  • Maintain a helpful and friendly attitude at all times.

 

 

Job Qualifications

 

 

  • Working knowledge of products, prior retail and repair shop experience preferred.
  • Possess advanced skiing and riding skills.
  • Be courteous, efficient in work habits and maintain a tidy appearance.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Heavy and awkward lifting up to 50lbs 
  • Applicants must be 18 or older.

Work Schedules

 

 

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

 

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.  During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

 

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time.  Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

 

 

 

Working Conditions

 

 

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

 

 

 

Uniforms

 

 

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required.  Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift.  We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job.  However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below.   The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work.  All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift

 

 

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees.  You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
