UPMC Shadyside is hiring a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic team!

This daylight shift position includeson-call and holiday on-call responsibilities. It’s a fantastic opportunity for those looking to grow their imaging career while working alongside a dedicated team of life changers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administering contrast per protocol under direction of the proceduralist.

  • Demonstrating proper patient positioning and radiographic techniques during all interventional procedures.

  • Reviewing patient history, assessing physician orders, and applying department-specific protocols.

  • Documenting relevant patient information in the electronic medical record.

  • Maintaining a sterile and safe environment during procedures, including time-out protocols.

  • Clearly communicating instructions and educating patients to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.

  • Ensuring accurate coding, image tracking, and charge entry in RIS and PACS systems.

  • Displaying professionalism and empathy in all interactions with patients and coworkers.

  • Collaborating effectively with team members across departments to support efficient patient care.

  • Assisting with general radiographic procedures in other areas, as needed.



  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
