Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $31.25 - $33.65

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse works closely with students and nursing staff to apply health and wellness care plans. 
  • Provides nursing services within the scope of practice for state-specific nurse Practice Act.
  • Performs physical, emotional wellness assessments, and cursory exams for all students. 
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse provides for a wellness care plan that addresses students’ needs according to protocol outlined in Health Standing Orders or refers students to the Center Physician/mid-level practitioner.
  • Reviews all laboratory results and flags abnormal results for review by the center Physician.
  • Follows protocol for infection control by adhering to the Blood borne Pathogen Control plan and disinfecting work sites. Ensures the appropriate handling of specimens and equipment, as well as the sterilization of equipment.
  • Documents each encounter with students in their health records.

Qualifications

  • State Licensed Vocational Nurse’s License/Licensed Practical Nurse’s License and one year of experience as a practicing LVN/LPN.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice in state of Pennsylvania.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
