Ready to take your imaging career to the next level? UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Full-Time Diagnostic Technologist to join our expert Radiology team! This position offers evening shifts, Monday through Friday (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) with every other weekend—a great fit for those who thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. What You’ll Do

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiography exams following established protocols.
  • Review patient histories, verify orders, and document accurately in the electronic record.
  • Administer contrast materials as directed by policy.
  • Ensure exams are properly coded, archived, and tracked through the RIS system.
  • Provide compassionate care, clear communication, and a positive experience for every patient.


  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
    • Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.

      Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
    • Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025.
    • Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, will need to obtain their registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date. 
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate
