UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Full-Time Diagnostic Technologist to support our dedicated Radiology team during the 11 PM – 7:30 AM shift, with rotating weekends and 2–3 holidays per year — and no call requirements! What You’ll Do

  • Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently, following established protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, review orders, and document clinical information accurately.
  • Administer oral or rectal contrast per physician orders and departmental policies.
  • Ensure exams are properly coded, archived, and processed in all imaging systems.
  • Interact with patients and team members respectfully and empathetically, maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
  • Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.

 



  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
    • Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. 

    Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date.

  • CPR or BLS Required.
