Job Summary

 

The Station Safety Advisor supports a strong safety culture with a primary focus on PassengerService and Above Wing operations. This position promotes compliance with OSHA, FAA, TSA, airline, airport, and company safety standards while ensuring safe practices are consistently followed in passenger-facing areas. The Advisor works closely with Passenger Service leadership to identify hazards, investigate incidents, conduct safety audits, and implement corrective actions that reduce workplace risks and improve safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety audits of Passenger Service and Above Wing operations, including check-in, ticket counters, gate areas, boarding operations, baggage service areas, and other passenger-facing workspaces.
  • Promote compliance with OSHA, FAA, TSA, airline, airport, and company safety policies and procedures within Passenger Service operations.
  • Investigate and document employee and passenger-related accidents, incidents, injuries, and safety concerns, ensuring appropriate follow-up and reporting.
  • Monitor safety practices during check-in, boarding, baggage handling/service, passenger assistance, and other operational activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and participate in safety committee meetings, reviewing incidents, trends, and operational concerns to identify areas requiring additional attention.
  • Review and analyze safety metrics, incident reports, audit findings, and trends to recommend targeted safety initiatives and corrective actions.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety training by identifying skill gaps and coordinating refresher or remedial training as needed.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained.
  • Assist station leadership with safety communications, employee engagement initiatives, and recognition of safe work practices.
  • Serve as a safety resource for Passenger Service employees and leadership, providing guidance on safety concerns and operational procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Must be at least 18 years of age if position requires driving GSE equipment

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to concentrate on detail.
  • Ability to learn PC skills and apply knowledge.
  • Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to step up to an above ground level.
