UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Part-Time Diagnostic Technologist to join our Radiology team! This daylight role offers a consistent and balanced schedule — you’ll work every other weekend, every Monday, and every other Friday, with just two holiday shifts per year. What You’ll Do

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiography procedures with precision and professionalism.
  • Review patient histories, apply department protocols, and document information accurately in electronic records.
  • Administer PO and rectal contrast per department policy and ensure all exams are properly coded, archived, and tracked.
  • Operate complex imaging equipment and adjust protocols as needed to achieve optimal results.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and patients, demonstrating empathy, communication, and attention to detail.


  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
    • Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.

      Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
