Electrical Department Manager

Overview

As Bassett Services continues to grow throughout the Greater Indianapolis market, we are looking for an experienced and driven Electrical Department Manager to lead, develop, and grow our residential electrical team.This is an exciting opportunity for either a proven people leader or a highly accomplished residential electrician who is ready to take the next step into leadership. We're seeking someone who can build accountability, elevate the customer experience, develop talent, and help scale our electrical operations for continued growth.

As the Electrical Department Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our electrical department, supporting residential electricians, driving performance, assisting with recruiting and workforce development, and implementing processes that support operational excellence. You'll play a key role in developing team members, improving customer satisfaction, and helping shape the future of electrical operations across the Greater Indianapolis area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of residential electricians to achieve performance goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop top electrical talent to support continued growth.
• Foster a culture centered around accountability, teamwork, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee daily electrical service operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, productivity, quality workmanship, and execution.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve department performance, revenue growth, profitability, and customer experience.
• Partner with leadership, dispatch, customer service, and sales teams to ensure alignment and execution of company objectives.
• Conduct ride-alongs, field audits, and job site visits to support employee development and quality assurance.
• Drive accountability around safety standards, licensing requirements, code compliance, and company policies.
• Manage customer escalations and ensure timely, professional resolution of service concerns.
• Identify and implement operational improvements that increase efficiency, technician productivity, and overall business performance.
• Serve as a visible, hands-on leader who actively supports both field and office teams.
• Help develop future leaders within the electrical department and build the structure needed to support ongoing growth.

What You Bring:

• Previous leadership experience within residential electrical services, home services, field operations, or a related environment OR extensive experience as a residential electrician with a desire to move into management.
• Strong understanding of residential electrical service operations.
• Proven ability to influence, motivate, and develop others.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and service excellence.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, licensing requirements, and industry best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on employee development and operational performance.
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software is preferred.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to spend significant time in the field supporting technicians and customers.
