A fast‑paced hospitality organization is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role oversees daily accounting functions, payroll for a large workforce, internal controls, and financial analysis while supporting operational leadership. Ideal for a Senior Accountant ready to advance or an entry‑level Controller with experience managing financials for multiple hospitality properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting — Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, manage the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and provide variance analysis.

  • Accounting Operations — Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, night audit, payroll, and management reporting.

  • Controls & Compliance — Ensure GAAP compliance, review journal entries, and support internal/external audits.

  • Payroll Oversight — Manage payroll processing for a large associate base, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Team Leadership — Train, mentor, and develop Finance and Accounting staff.

  • Business Partnership — Collaborate with department leaders and management to support operational goals.

  • Process Improvement — Evaluate procedures and implement scalable improvements.

  • Operational Participation — Participate in meetings, events, and special projects.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

  • 5–10 years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP

  • Hospitality industry accounting experience strongly preferred

  • Experience leading accounting operations and developing staff

  • Strong analytical, decision‑making, and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy

  • Experience with Office 365 and accounting/payroll systems

  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospitality environment with flexible scheduling

  • Ability to move throughout a large property (reasonable accommodations available)
