EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 

     

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience working with middle and high school students. 
  • Knowledge of Career Technical Education. 
  • Experience and knowledge in career exploration and development of college and career plans. 
  • Knowledge of current practices in family involvement. 
  • Exemplary human relations skills. 
  • Exemplary organizational, oral communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, and Excel). 
  • Ability to multi-task. 
  • Ability to work closely with guidance community, assistant principals and parents. 
  • Capacity to perform routine clerical procedures 

     

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Responsible for the recruitment and identifying qualified students for the CTE (Career Technical Education) programs. 
  • Responsible for implementing presentations and on-site visitations of prospective candidates. 
  • Responsible for maintaining communication with home schools and parents regarding satisfactory progress in the program. 
  • Responsible for assisting teachers daily regarding classroom issues and attendance for CTE students. 
  • Responsible for coordinating and providing career-related presentations and activities for CTE students. 
  • Acts as a mentor to student CTE population. 
  • Support CTE instructors with program requirements such as Program Advisory Committee Meetings, Program Certification, and Accreditation. 
  • Coordinate and support the chapter of SkillsUSA at Robert D. Stethem Educational Center. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

     

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
