What You'll Do
As an Associate Dentist, you will providecomprehensive preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care to bothpediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced Federally Qualified Health Center(FQHC) environment. You will play a key role in improving oral health outcomeswhile supporting patient education, team development, and continuous qualityimprovement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and emergency dental services, including diagnosis, treatment planning, oral examinations, restorative procedures, crown and bridge work, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics, and minor oral surgery
- Initiate and interpret diagnostic x-rays and laboratory studies
- Administer and prescribe anesthetics, medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate
- Refer patients to specialty providers and other care services when indicated
- Educate patients and families on oral health, disease prevention, and treatment options
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the clinical activities of Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists
- Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and dental providers in an integrated care setting
- Support clinic quality, productivity, and patient satisfaction initiatives
- Participate in staff training, community health promotion, and safety/compliance programs
- Partner with the Chief Dental Officer to support clinic productivity, scheduling, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and organizational regulations, policies, and safety standards
- Adapt quickly to clinic workflows and EDR systems & maintain an efficient patient schedule
- Meet quality and productivity benchmarks & deliver exceptional patient experiences
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited dental school
- Current, valid, and unrestricted California Dental License
- Current DEA registration and CPR certification (BCLS/ACLS)
- 2+ years of clinical dental practice experience
- Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients
- Proficiency with Electronic Dental Records (EDR/EHR)
- Strong clinical, communication, leadership, and patient service skills
Additional Skills & Attributes
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health center setting preferred
- Experience with NextGen EDR preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
