Maintenance Worker (Part-Time)

The Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Worker (Weekends - 8 Hour Days) to join our team.  Duties and responsibilities are outlined below:
 

Maintenance Worker: 
 

Reports to:
 

• The Maintenance Worker in Bridgeport, CT is directly responsible and accountable to the Operations Manager.

• The Maintenance Worker in Port Jefferson, NY is directly responsible and accountable to the HR / Claims Manager.
   

Supervises: None
 

Description of Duties: 
 

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the building upkeep and cleanliness.

• Service, clean and supply restroom(s).

• Gather and empty trash.

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.

• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

• Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• HS diploma or equivalent

• Must be willing to work weekend, holidays, day/evening shifts as necessary
   

Physical Requirements:

• Work involves considerable stooping, bending, climbing and working in tight spaces.

• Work involves handling of materiel or chemicals needed for maintenance and repairs; must be able to properly wear personal protective equipment.

Salary:  $17.50 an hour
