POSITION OBJECTIVES: Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Supports the Engineering and Design Group. Typically reports to R&D Tech IV or Engineering Manager.
路聽聽聽聽Use specialized equipment such as tape measure, band saw, oxygen/acetylene cutting torches, hand grinders, drill press, shot blasters, steam cleaner etc.
路聽聽聽聽Perform basic metalworking duties such as measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling and deburring parts.
路聽聽聽聽Operate forklift to unload and handle raw materials.
路聽聽聽聽Maintain test standards and equipment in accordance with ISO procedures.
路聽聽聽聽Assemble components using basic hand tools.
路聽聽聽聽Read and follow blueprints and work instructions.
路聽聽聽聽Welding together parts from raw materials using blueprints
路聽聽聽聽Perform a wide range of shop duties to support the Engineering Group.
QUALIFICATIONS:
路聽聽聽聽High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred. Industry Certification Preferred.
路聽聽聽聽Two years minimum of related R&D Technician experience. Welding experience a plus.
路聽聽聽聽Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
路聽聽聽聽Ability to write simple correspondence.
路聽聽聽聽Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
路聽聽聽聽Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides
