BizTek People is in search for an experienced Credentialing Coordinator for our client in Portland, OR!

Work Arrangement: Remote (local candidates only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Assignment Duration: 4 months
Start Date: October 12th

Position Summary

The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of provider credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging processes for medical professionals delivering patient care. This role ensures providers meet regulatory, legal, and payer requirements and maintains accurate, up-to-date credentialing records across internal and external systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; track progress and follow up as needed to ensure timely completion
  • Compile, maintain, and audit accurate provider data within credentialing databases and online systems
  • Maintain current documentation for all providers, including state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage, and other required credentials
  • Monitor and track license, certification, DEA, and professional liability expiration dates to ensure timely renewals
  • Audit health plan directories to ensure accurate provider information and support payer and regulatory audits
  • Generate correspondence, reports, and tracking documentation using credentialing software and database systems
  • Perform routine assignments in accordance with established guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience (one of the following):
  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of medical staff credentialing experience in a healthcare or insurance provider setting
  • Associate’s Degree and 3 years of experience performing data collection or data analysis using complex database systems
  • Demonstrated experience working with credentialing or database software systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards, including legal, state, TJC, and NCQA requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
