Viridian Staffing's(www.viridianstaffing.com)Client is looking for a Head of Cultivation for an indoor grow operation about40 minutes outside of the Portland, Maine, area.
Founded in 2013,Viridian Staffing is the originial staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firmsolely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical,and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.
As Head ofCultivation, you will be responsible for the leadership and organization forall activities in the grow operation, including being a key voice in the buildout process. You will direct and overseethe employee activities for all operations from propagation, planting andcultivating, to irrigation, harvesting, processing and record keeping. Asthe grow will begin with a modest canopy, you should have a "roll up yoursleeves" attitude in order to be successful in this operation. Youwill be expected to develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) inan effort to advance the Company's mission and be in compliance with allfederal, state and local laws. Using your knowledge ofCannabis regulations and OSHA rules, you will ensure adherence to complianceand safety regulations by all employees. Using your proven experience meeting or exceeding quality expectations,you will plan and direct operations for optimum success and the best quality ofproduct. As a successful people manager known for inspiring youremployees, you enjoy hiring, training, and coaching employees in all aspects ofthe grow operation.
The ideal HeadGrower will have 5+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience, withat least 2+ years of that experience as a people manager in a cultivationenvironment. You have managed indoor cultivation facilities from 2k squarefeet and upward of 80k square feet (and are successful managing both) and havesolid IPM experience. You have phenomenal communication skills, enablingyou to explain complex horticultural information to individuals who don't havea background in this, and enjoy being part of a team, versus only spending timewith the plants. Ideally, you'll have a degree in horticulture oragronomy. You are an expert when itcomes to climate control and understand crop planning and scheduling. It ispreferred that you understand the climate complexities of the Northeast.
