Provides exceptional customer service while preparing, merchandising, and selling the highest quality meat and poultry. Works closely with the team to meet department and store goals as directed by the Store Director and Department Manager. Maintains strict food safety standards, ensures freshness and quality, and is passionate about helping customers understand and enjoy our premium offerings. This is a closing shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDÂ RESPONSIBILITIESÂ include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Â
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional customer service. Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Follow through on all customer questions and requestsÂ
- Follow established food safety procedures Â
- Practice safe use of all tools and equipment required by position (meat band saw, grinder, tumbler, etc.)Â
- Organize, stock and rotate meat and poultry cases to ensure freshness and quality of products and presentation meet all company standards.Â
- Receive and put away product delivery. Maintain back stock areas and coolers; keep all cases and shelves clean.Â
- Know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspectsÂ
- Be able to explain proper cooking techniques for all meats and cuts to the customer.Â
- Maintain accurate retail pricing and signageÂ
- Be aware of new products and their placementÂ
- Maintain safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environmentÂ
- Document product transfers, waste and spoilage using appropriate formsÂ
- Properly package and wrap products for retail saleÂ
- Trim and bone meat and poultry upon guests’ requestÂ
- Skewer meat and poultry items for kabobs, marinate meat itemsÂ
- Know and practice proper lifting techniquesÂ
- Completion of daily prep lists and job assignments while maintaining high productivity levels.Â
- Help cross-merchandise product with other departmentsÂ
- Understand why our products are different than conventional stores, and be able to explain to customersÂ
- Answer telephones with proper etiquette Â

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Â
Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in a meat department with increased responsibility of meat cutting/trimming and creating value add items for the meat case. Experience working with seafood a plus.Â
LANGUAGE SKILLS Â
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents (instructions and vendor information). Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, managers and customers. Â
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Â
Strong basic math skills including the ability to add, multiply, divide, and subtract. Â

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems.Â
