Position: Housing Counselor


General Description:


The Housing Counselor shall be responsible to provide direct counseling and education to a portion of the customers of HRH鈥檚 Home Buyer Education Programs. The position shall also be responsible for the administrative duties of HRH鈥檚 Home Buyer Education programs. Duties may include, but are not limited to:


Principal Duties:


Administration


路 Process HBE Enrollment forms, including obtaining credit reports, entering data into the NeighborWorks Compass software, creating files, and notifying customers to schedule initial consultations.聽


路 Maintain customer database and record activity in NW Compass software.聽


路 Maintain customer files, and other files, necessary to the HBE department.


路 Obtain and process statistical information for reporting, including NeighborWorks庐 quarterly production reports, NPC Annual reports, HRH monthly stats, and other assorted grants & reports as determined.


Counseling & Education


路 Directly providing pre-and post-purchase education in-group settings.


路 Providing one-on-one housing counseling services.


路 Determining customer eligibility, and compiling accurate documentation, for various loan products, grants, and other housing related programs.


路 Other duties as required.


Qualifications:


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Associates degree and/or three years related experience in the lending or teaching fields. Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Strong computer and office equipment skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Self-motivated and goal oriented. The ability to work independently, yet functions well as a team. Ability to work with diverse groups, good written and oral communication skills, and organization skills; maturity and professional judgment needed. Telephone and valid driver鈥檚 license required.


Salary: $55,000 - 60,000 per year


Location: Poughkeepsie, NY


Immediate Supervisor: Director of Homeownership & Education
