Physical Therapist Assistant – Full-Time Outpatient Role

Princeton, NJ

We are recruiting a Physical Therapist Assistant for an orthopedic outpatient physical therapy office.

Compensation: $70K–$80K per year, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Typical Appointment Pace: 1–2 patients per hour

What to Expect

This role is for a PTA who is comfortable working within an established plan of care while paying close attention to how each patient is doing during treatment.

You’ll guide prescribed exercises, provide appropriate therapeutic interventions, and help patients build the physical skills they need for daily activities. When something changes, whether that’s improvement, increased difficulty, or a new concern, you’ll communicate it to the supervising PT so the plan can be reviewed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver treatment interventions assigned by the Physical Therapist
  • Assist patients with therapeutic and functional exercises
  • Work on mobility, strength, balance, and flexibility as directed
  • Monitor patient performance and tolerance throughout each appointment
  • Report relevant findings to the treating PT
  • Reinforce safe movement and exercise habits
  • Document patient participation and treatment response
  • Maintain treatment areas and therapy equipment
  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey
  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program
  • Previous outpatient physical therapy experience
  • Understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical setting
