Butler Hospital is one of the earliest psychiatric facilities established in the United States. The Psychosocial Research Program at Butler is one of several active research groups at the hospital. Dr. Ivan Miller is the director, and the program is comprised of academic psychologists, postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, master’s-level interventionists, and project coordinators. Research in this group is currently funded by numerous federal and foundation grants, and most of this work centers on suicide prevention, post-hospital transitions, technology-assisted assessment and intervention, mood and psychotic disorders, and comorbid conditions conducted in a variety of clinical settings.
