You already know how to originate mortgages, build relationships, and earn referrals. At this point in your career, the platform behind you matters.

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Air Academy Credit Union, you’ll bring your own drive and relationships to the table. We’ll support you with walk-in and call-in leads, a branch referral network, in-house processing and underwriting, and a broad range of lending options to help you serve more borrowers.

This is a fully commissioned position built for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer who knows how to generate business and is ready to keep building.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage a mortgage pipeline through self-sourced business, Realtor and business-development relationships, AACU referrals, and company-provided leads.
  • Guide members and prospective members through the mortgage process, helping them understand their options and choose financing that fits their needs.
  • Originate FHA, VA, Conventional, portfolio, first-time homebuyer, and down payment assistance loans.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Realtors, builders, business partners, and other referral sources.
  • Follow up on walk-in, call-in, and branch-referred opportunities with the same care you bring to your own network.
  • Work closely with AACU’s in-house processing and underwriting teams to keep loans moving and borrowers informed.
  • Represent AACU at Realtor meetings, community events, presentations, and other business-development opportunities.
  • Stay current on lending programs, market conditions, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build long-term relationships by making the mortgage process clear, responsive, and personal.

What Helps You Succeed Here

You know this business. You understand that strong production comes from relationships, responsiveness, follow-through, and earning the next referral.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • At least 2 years of current or recent retail mortgage origination experience
  • Experience originating FHA, VA, and Conventional loans
  • A track record of success in mortgage lending and business development
  • The ability and motivation to generate self-sourced business
  • Strong Realtor and professional referral relationships, or the ability to actively develop them
  • A commitment to providing excellent service to both self-generated and AACU-provided leads
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence presenting mortgage information in group, community, or professional settings
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and to Colorado Springs for meetings.
  • NMLS registration in good standing
  • Experience with Encompass preferred

AACU is a federally chartered credit union. No state MLO licenses are required for this position.

What You’ll Have Behind You

Experienced Loan Officers do their best work when they have the right tools, products, and people around them.

At AACU, you’ll have access to:

  • Walk-in and call-in mortgage leads
  • An established branch referral network
  • In-house processing and underwriting
  • FHA lending as a Full Eagle lender
  • VA lending as a Direct Endorsement lender
  • Correspondent-level Conventional mortgage lending
  • First-time homebuyer and down payment assistance programs
  • Flexible portfolio lending options that can provide additional solutions for borrowers
  • The ability to lend in all 50 states
  • A fully equipped office

And there’s another number we think matters: our typical Mortgage Loan Officer has been with AACU for more than 10 years.

For someone who knows how quickly mortgage companies, compensation plans, and teams can change, that kind of tenure says something.
