About the Role:

We are looking for a BEE-certified Energy Manager to lead energy conservation and efficiency initiatives across our clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring energy consumption, identifying energy-saving opportunities, ensuring statutory compliance under the Energy Conservation Act, and supporting the organization’s sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular internal energy audits to identify areas of energy wastage and opportunities for efficiency improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze plant/facility energy consumption data, including electricity, fuel, steam, compressed air, etc., and prepare periodic MIS reports.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns/filings as required under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, including Form 1 and annual energy consumption reports to the State Designated Agency (SDA) and/or BEE, as applicable.
  • Identify, evaluate, and support the implementation of energy-saving projects; calculate ROI and payback periods for proposed measures.
  • Benchmark energy performance against industry standards and establish Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) targets.
  • Coordinate with accredited energy auditors for mandatory energy audits of Designated Consumers, wherever applicable.
  • Track and report energy performance indicators, carbon footprint, and other relevant metrics to support ESG and sustainability reporting.
  • Recommend and support the implementation of renewable energy solutions, waste heat recovery systems, and energy-efficient equipment and technologies.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs for staff and operations teams on energy conservation practices.
  • Liaise with State Designated Agencies (SDAs), BEE, and other regulatory bodies as required.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 50001 – Energy Management Systems, where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Energy / Industrial) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) / Energy Manager registered with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India – mandatory.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in energy management, energy auditing, plant utilities, or facility engineering. Experience gained during or after BEE certification is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, and related statutory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with energy monitoring tools/software and basic data analysis using MS Excel/MS Office; exposure to SCADA/BMS is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems.
  • Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and finance teams.
