Design Engineer

Ø  POSITION SUMMARY: Develops customer concepts and prepares files for manufacturing, works with development department to assure designs are properly documented.

Ø  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop project objectives by reviewing customer job files
• Determine project schedule by calculating time requirements
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and  resolving problems
• Prepare model and drawings for manufacturing department
• Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects
• Ensure effective engineering and customer communications
• Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal ITAR regulations

Ø  ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

·         Assume other responsibilities as required

Ø  QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture. Must also understand how to communicate these transformational changes to a diverse workforce.
• Organizational and time management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literate (Solidworks, Cadkey, Windows, MS office, E-mail, Internet) 
  • Knowledge of Unigraphics a plus

Ø  EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:    

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and/or 5 years of experience with advanced knowledge, obtained usually through a combination of experience and continuing education  

Ø  CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED:

• Valid Driver’s license
