The Opportunity

The Production Technician is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and labeling of TechLab diagnostic kits and components (including lateral flow devices). This role supports production operations through manual assembly, equipment use, accurate documentation, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards. The Production Technician ensures all products are complete, compliant, and produced in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Batch Records (MBRs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). These positions report to a Production Supervisor (Packaging, Lab, or Dry Room, as assigned)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble lateral flow devices and diagnostic kits using manual processes and associated equipment

  • Perform pouching, bagging, and packaging of finished products

  • Pack and label kits accurately, ensuring completeness and correct components

  • Verify and utilize raw materials as specified in work orders

  • Confirm bottle counts and materials prior to production and packaging

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Master Batch Records (MBRs) throughout production

  • Complete and maintain accurate batch records and documentation

  • Verify labels and assist with label control processes

  • Inspect products and packaging materials during production

  • Immediately report non-conformances to supervisor or team lead

  • Maintain accountability of product and materials throughout production

  • Record scrap/discards daily and document on MBRs or observation logs

  • Enter production data into Excel and tracking systems

  • Assist with inventory-related counts (e.g., inserts, cards, packaging components)

  • Operate production equipment such as pallet wrappers and assembly tools

  • Maintain equipment in accordance with SOP requirements

  • Ensure proper setup and safe operation of all assigned equipment

  • Properly wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (e.g., smock, gloves, hairnet, beard cover)

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

  • Support other production areas as needed based on business demands

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to lift upwards of 25lbs

  • Must be able to work occasional overtime without advanced notice

  • Previous lab or manufacturing experience is preferred

Location, Environment, and Work Policy

The Production Technicians may work in a room with very low humidity. Eye drops, gloves, and other necessary items will be provided. A typical workweek is Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00 - flexible work schedules may be available. Overtime is required during different times.
