Overview

WakeMed is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiology Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, supporting physicians in patient diagnosis and care. This position works across multiple areas of the hospital, including pediatrics, the operating room, emergency department, inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Imaging: Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Patient Monitoring: Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during procedures; report changes or concerns
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Adjust equipment according to physician orders, perform routine checks, and report any issues
  • Imaging Setup & Positioning: Properly position patients and equipment to ensure accurate imaging
  • Workflow & Preparation: Review orders, prioritize workflow, and prepare equipment for procedures
  • Data & Documentation: Accurately record diagnostic data and maintain patient records in system(s)
  • Patient Support: Explain imaging procedures to patients and families to promote understanding and reduce anxiety
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and specialists in imaging review and diagnostic processes

Work Environment

  • Rotates across multiple departments including:
    • Pediatrics
    • Emergency Department
    • Operating Room
    • Fluoroscopy
    • Outpatient services
  • Includes call/callback rotation across multiple sites

Qualifications:

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical radiology experience (preferred)

Licensure & Certification

  • Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT) (required)
