Job Summary: Â The Shipping Specialist is responsible for ensuring the needs of the internal and external customers are being met. Â The specialist will prepare products for shipment and ship all outbound shipments including regular parcel, freight and international. This position works 7:00am-3:00pm.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
- Prepare and ship all outbound shipments including parcel, freight, and international
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork for all outbound shipments
- Take calls and setup delivery appointments for all outbound shipments
- Follow and adhere to all company and customer shipping instructions, policies, and procedures
- Load and unload delivery trucks
- Maintain accurate data entry and records in the system per company policies
- Maintain and file documents and paperwork per company policies
- Process outgoing shipments using UPS, FedEx and other various shipping software and/or customer portals
- Prepare all outbound pallets for shipment including finishing, wrapping, and palletizing of product
- Work internally with other departments to ensure shipping deadlines are met
- Operate powered industrial trucks including forklifts, powered jacks, etc.
- Utilize computer systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office software including email, word, excel.Â
- Assist Receiving as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in shipping/receiving
- Knowledge of PC and database programs; experience working with an internal ERP system, printing labels, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and via email
- Basic measuring skills and visual quality inspection of incoming material
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping
- Experienced in operating a Forklift and electric pallet jacks
- Experience working with FedEx Ship Manger® and UPS WorldShip®
