Join us as a HSE Studentfor our Ottawa district, within our Canadian Buildings sector for 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a HSE Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities
- Â Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations
- Managing documents (ie. data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.)
- Assisting with the orientation of new employees
- Developing of training materials
- Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI, tailgate meetings, safework procedure, trend analysis)
- Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program
- Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements
- Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district
- Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information
- Interpreting, communicating, and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce
Qualifications
- Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures
- Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance
- Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards · The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong willingness to learn
