The YMCA of Reading & Berks County is seeking a Pennsylvania Certified Pre-K Counts Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where every child can thrive. This position plays a key leadership role in delivering high-quality early childhood education while supporting classroom staff, partnering with families, and maintaining compliance with Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS, DHS, and YMCA standards. What You'll Do Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons. Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that promotes school readiness. Lead and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff. Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families. Maintain accurate attendance, emergency, and child records. Ensure classroom compliance with DHS, Keystone STARS, ELRC, and YMCA standards. Monitor classroom ratios, health, safety, and cleanliness. Identify and communicate developmental concerns to program leadership. Participate in team planning meetings, trainings, and YMCA events. Promote the YMCA mission through exceptional service to children and families. Support continuous quality improvement within the Early Learning Program.
