Job Summary: 

The Student Employment & Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the administrative and operational components of the University’s student employment program and supporting employee engagement initiatives within Human Resources. The position manages student employment processes following the identification and selection of student employees, including employment documentation, onboarding, employment changes, records maintenance, supervisor support, and separation processing. In addition, the Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources office and assists with University employee engagement activities, events, communications, and other initiatives designed to strengthen the employee experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide responsive, accessible, and service-oriented support to students, employees, supervisors, and campus partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling employee and student employment information.

Student Employment Coordination

  • Coordinate the administrative student employment process after a student has been selected for employment.
  • Process student employee hiring documentation, employment changes, transfers, wage changes, and terminations.
  • Coordinate student employee onboarding and ensure required employment forms and documentation are completed before employment begins.
  • Maintain accurate student employment records within applicable Human Resources systems, databases, and personnel files.
  • Generate and maintain student employment documentation, reports, tracking logs, and other records necessary to administer the program.
  • Serve as a primary Human Resources point of contact for student employees and campus supervisors regarding student employment procedures, documentation, deadlines, and administrative requirements.

Human Resources Administrative Support

  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of University employee engagement programs, recognition activities, employee events, and other HR-sponsored initiatives.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for employee engagement activities, including scheduling, communications, registrations, materials preparation, attendance tracking, and event coordination.
  • Assist Human Resources leadership with gathering employee feedback and participation information when requested.

Human Resources Administrative & Clerical Support

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support for Human Resources operations.
  • Assist with employment documentation, personnel file maintenance, correspondence, mailings, and routine office processes.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Commitment to the organization’s mission, values, and service-oriented culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant administrative or Human Resources experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and follow established procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate processes, and implement improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn Human Resources information systems, databases, and other University applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential for the performance of this role.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
