Campus Executive Director | Meadow Ridge, Redding, CT
Benchmark Senior Living | Life Plan Community (CCRC)
Lead one of Connecticut’s largest retirement communities
Meadow Ridge is Connecticut’s largest retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, nursing, and rehabilitation on a single campus. Benchmark Senior Living is looking for a Campus Executive Director to lead it. You will be the senior executive for the whole campus: independent living, assisted living, memory care, sub-acute rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. You’ll shape its strategy, protect its financial health, and make it a place where residents want to live and associates want to build careers.
This is a rare role for a leader who wants real ownership. You’ll run a complex, multi-service campus with a strong leadership team, and you’ll have the backing of a respected senior living organization.
About the campus
Meadow Ridge sits high on a hilltop in Redding, CT, about 55 miles from Manhattan. The 136-acre campus is nestled among rolling hills, natural woodlands, and open meadows.
- Independent living: 302 apartment homes
- Ridge Crest Health Center: an award-winning center for assisted living, memory care, sub-acute rehabilitation, and skilled nursing, including an assisted living neighborhood that opened in 2022
- History: welcomed its first residents in 2001, and Benchmark became part owner and operator in 2021
- Recognition: named in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living rankings
What you’ll do
Lead the campus and the team
- Set the vision and strategic priorities for the campus, and turn them into measurable goals
- Lead the executive team, including the Associate Executive Director, Health Center, who runs day-to-day operations for assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service, and develop the next generation of campus leaders
Put residents first
- Champion resident rights, choice, dignity, and quality of life across the continuum
- Be a visible presence on campus, with residents, families, and associates
- Keep the experience seamless as residents’ needs change over time
Drive financial and market performance
- Own the campus’s financial performance and long-term sustainability, including operating and capital budgets
- Work with sales and marketing leadership on occupancy, census, and revenue strategies across all levels of living
- Look for new ways to grow revenue, improve margins, and make the most of the campus’s assets
Shape the future of the campus
- Guide long-range planning, capital investment, and major renovation or construction projects
- Report to the Board and ownership groups with transparency and a clear point of view
- Represent the campus with physicians, healthcare partners, regulators, and community leaders, and build the relationships that strengthen its reputation
Keep the campus safe and compliant
- Maintain executive oversight of regulatory readiness, licensure, quality, risk management, and emergency preparedness across every service line
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, hospitality, gerontology, or a related field (master’s preferred)
- A track record of senior leadership in senior living, CCRC/Life Plan Communities, healthcare, or hospitality
- Experience leading a complex organization with multiple service lines, significant financial responsibility, and a diverse leadership team
- Prior experience as an Executive Director, Campus Executive Director, COO, CEO, or similar (strongly preferred)
- Strong financial acumen, with comfort interpreting budgets, forecasts, occupancy and census data, and operating metrics
- Skill in strategic planning, capital planning, and organizational development
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with residents, families, Board members, and community leaders alike
- Sound judgment, high emotional intelligence, integrity, and discretion in high-stakes situations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Yardi, UKG (Ulti), and Kronos
