Responsibilities:

The HR Intern will assist the Senior HR Manager and HR team in safely and efficiently performing the duties, including but not limited to, the items listed below:

  • Assist with new hire processing and new hire orientation.
  • Assist with background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens.
  • Assist with employee information such as personal data, benefits, and status changes in the HRIS system.
  • Complete PSI (Personal Status Information) Change Forms for employee changes.
  • Assist with processing new hires, terminations, and leaves of absence.

  • Assist with benefit administration and employee questions.
  • Assist with performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures.
  • Assist with unemployment claims and related documentation.
  • Assist with employee relations issues and maintaining harmony among workers.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other HR documentation as needed.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including job postings and scheduling interviews.
  • File documents in ADP and assist with back room file organization and cleanup.
  • Assist with USCG licensing and provide sea time letters as needed.
  • Assist with H-2B documentation and other employment-related processes as needed.
  • Assist with HR compliance, audits, and special projects.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior HR Manager and HR team.
  • Provide the opportunity to learn about and gain exposure to other departments within the organization as part of professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
  • All other duties as assigned.
