Position: Forklift Operator

Night Shift: 5:05 pm – 3:35 am., Monday - Thursday; occasional OT on Fridays

Purpose:  This Forklift Operator position works in the business by ensuring the processes run smoothly and efficiently and helps manage the processes and programs for the production crew.

  1. Safety
    1. Ensure the safety of all personnel by following established safety policies and housekeeping standards
    2. Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
    3. Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation

 

  1. Quality
    1. Completes audits to ensure quality requirements and standards are met

 

  1. Production
    1. Places pallets of finished door stacks on wrapper with forklift 
    2. Pull all production wraps lines as required out of designated areas
    3. Separate all disposable material into the designated areas
    4. Loading all lines as per the production requirements.
    5. Staging and organizing incoming product to the department to maximize flow.
    6. Removing machined product from the lines and stage for shipping.
    7. Keep raw materials and packaging materials stocked, as necessary.
    8. Assist in finishing and packaging of completed units.
    9. Operate forklift to load and/or move materials
    10. Supply production areas with materials needed from inventory
    11. Load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials
    12. Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Education:

  1. HS Diploma or equivalent preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Models OC Core Values and leadership competencies
  2. Ability to receive forklift certification
  3. Ability to work independently when needed
  4. Utilizes strong leadership skills to build a cohesive and high performing team
  5. Demonstrated a high degree of accuracy
  6. Makes effective use of work time
  7. High level of mental alertness
  8. Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  9. Thorough knowledge of all areas of primary production positions
  10. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
  11. Stand/walk for a full work shift of 10 hours
  12. Mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
  13. Maintains good attendance and punctuality as defined in the Attendance Policy
