Assistant Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with directing and overseeing the work of hourly manufacturing employees
• Assist with training and provide feedback to help evaluate performance and safety of hourly manufacturing employees
• Effectively recommend the discipline or corrective action of hourly manufacturing employees
• Ensure manufacturing, handling, testing & distribution of products are done according to all customer, Company & regulatory requirements
• Conduct routine inspections, as assigned, in a safe manner & in compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Monitor production for proper use of materials, accurate documentation & potential cross –contamination; reporting all deviations
• Participate in accident and quality investigation, deviations & corrective actions
• Routine calibration checks on production instruments
• Participate in and / or lead safety and quality meetings when applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to be trained in a variety of job functions 
• Possess a good working knowledge of Company quality standards
• Ability to use:  scales, micrometer, calculator, spectrometer, tape measure, MS Office and various other QA tools
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend, interpret, enforce and apply written work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
• Demonstrated ability to accurately perform and document math calculations as required by work assignments
• Demonstrated skill in written communication including record keeping
• Outstanding oral communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to operate equipment utilized during inspection process
• Understanding of ISO 9001:2008 or related standard
• Understanding the importance of 6S and continual improvement is a plus

• Must have less than 2 attendance points to be considered
• Must have less than 2 safety employee warning notices in the last 2 years
• Must have less than 2 quality employee warning notices in the last 2 years
