The Engineering Project Manager at Hyper Solutions leads the planning, development, and delivery of mechanical systems supporting low- and medium-voltage power distribution products, including PDUs and related mission-critical infrastructure components. This role combines technical engineering expertise with strong project management capabilities to drive successful execution from concept through production.
This position works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer and business objectives. The Engineering Project Manager plays a key role in coordinating complex product development efforts while maintaining high standards for quality, performance, and reliability.
This role is well-suited for an engineer with strong mechanical design experience who has transitioned into project leadership and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional engineering projects for power distribution units (PDUs) and associated componentsÂ
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocationsÂ
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure timely project executionÂ
- Track project progress, milestones, risks, and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadershipÂ
- Manage risk assessments, design reviews, and engineering change control processesÂ
- Ensure alignment between engineering development, production readiness, and customer requirementsÂ
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to assess production readiness and execution timelinesÂ
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testing (DFT) efforts, including prototyping and validation buildsÂ
- Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), field trials, and failure analysis effortsÂ
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and cross-functional coordinationÂ
- Support global or multi-site project execution across different time zones and partner environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineÂ
- 5+ years of mechanical design experienceÂ
- 2+ years of experience managing projects or leading cross-functional teamsÂ
- Experience designing components for low- or medium-voltage electrical systems (PDUs, switchgear, busbar systems, controls, or similar)Â
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals including thermal management, sheet metal, plastics, structural integrity, and environmental sealingÂ
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similarÂ
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsÂ
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorksÂ
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certificationÂ
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and certifications such as UL, IEC, and CEÂ
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM/PDM) systemsÂ
- Experience working with contract manufacturing and external supplier networksÂ
