Safety Kleen, located in Richmond, CA is looking to add a Facility Operations Manager to join their safety conscious team. The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our medical waste processing facility. The successful candidate will have industry experience and logistics experience combined with a strong administrative skill set. This team will oversee a Facility Operations Supervisor and a team of 6 technicians on day/nights.

Shift: Need to have flexibility to work either days or nights.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Emphasize productivity, health & safety, compliance and customer satisfaction;

  • Ensure that each project has an operating plan and that personnel follow it;

  • Onsite supervision, training and mentoring Supervisors and Technicians and will also provide input to General Manager regarding performance evaluations for individuals to whom this position has direct supervision over;

  • Will be responsible for daily production goals of the shift including trailer offloading/receiving, consolidation, medical waste processing, box truck offloading, and outbound operations. 

  • General operation manager duties, setting and assigning daily area tasks and goals. Troubleshooting difficulties. Ensuring Health and Safety. Ensuring Compliance. Will act as emergency coordinator on site during shift. Point of contact for facility during this time and manager on duty.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field is required;

  • 5+ years of experience working in processing/chemical facility is required;

  • Supervisory or management experience in chemical operations required;

  • Medical waste or autoclave processing experience is an asset;

  • P&L/Budget experience is an asset;

  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations;

  • OSHA Training and experience is preferred.
