Position:     Loan Officer Assistant II 

Reports To:  City Executive/Branch Manager/Commercial Loan Manager

Supports:   All branch lenders

Reports to this position: None

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Role Summary:   


This position will provide all branch lending officers (retail and commercial) with a high level of administrative support to insure that all branch loans are closed and booked according to Bank policy, and in a timely and compliant manner.  Responsibilities will include direct contact with loan customers, insurance agents, attorneys and others involved in loan closing and servicing to facilitate an efficient process flow.

 

Specific Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities):

 

  • Per lender intent, originate and process loan documentation for commercial, retail, mortgage, equity line and all other Bank open-end credits.
    • Work closely with the Loan Officer and the customer from the start of the loan process to the closing of the loan.
    • Prepare any attorneys’ letters and coordinate loan closing with attorney.
    • Deliver and pick up loan closing packages when needed.
    • Handle the loan disbursements with the Loan Officer’s approval.
    • Prepare pertinent loan documents from final CCUS.
  • Handle all credit insurance including flood insurance.
  • Have a working knowledge of current regulations and Bank loan policies.
  • Assist the loan officer(s) in keeping all operation and documentation requirements current.
    • Monitor and advise when credits mature and process any renewals as approved by the Loan Officer.
    • Contact the customer for any future required credit documentation upon discussion with the Loan Officer.
  • Assist the Loan Officer(s) with the preparation of letters relative to the collection and/or maintenance of an account.
  • Address customer concerns with Loan Officer(s), research issues and address customer needs as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

 

  • Working knowledge of Bank lending processes, and loan documentation criteria.
  • Responsible for representing the Bank to customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner, and for providing prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing transactions.
  • Actively refers the Bank’s products and services in a professional manner. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all Bank services and products, and encourage customers to use them as needed. Display enthusiasm for Bank products and services and appropriately refer customers
  • Knowledgeable of Bank lending and deposit regulations, and Bank loan policies.
  • Experience with loan underwriting and processing software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with lenders, loan customers and others internally and externally to facilitate the lending process.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and information requests from loan customers within policy guidelines and while maintaining customer confidentiality.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.


Education/Experience Requirements:

 

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Possess a minimum of five years previous lending, loan processing or equivalent experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Capable user of standard office equipment/software applications.
