SUMMARY

Responsible for providing cleaning, grounds, and maintenance services, including weekends and evenings. Assist the Transit Stop Technician with the needed assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform general cleaning duties in and around bus shelters, bus stops, DTS, and DTS restrooms.
• Provides an inspection sheet daily to the Supervisor documenting work left uncleaned/out of order from the previous shift.
• Sweeps daily. 
• Empty trash (2x daily) to include DTS and DTs restrooms.
• All areas are checked daily to ensure that items, such as glass, lights, trash bins, concrete floors, etc., are free from defects and/or debris.
• Power wash area when required.
• Maintain open communication with direct co-workers, Supervisors, and Management staff.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

In accordance with our mission statement, additional duties and / or tasks may be assigned to continue seamless service for the agency.

Education / Experiences / Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License required.
• Power washing experience preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to provide quality-cleaning services. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Lifting up to 40 pounds required, anything over with assistance.
• Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, and pushing.
• Loading/Unloading trucks with items ranging from trash, trash bins, trash cans, yard tools, cleaning equipment, or anything considered GRTC property. 
• Combination of indoor and outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions, as well as exposure to diesel fumes, cleaning solvents, and lubricants.
