Assistant Director, Day Program Services

LOU is located in Ridgewood with programs in Northwest Bergen County:Â Allendale, Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Haledon, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Township of Washington, and Waldwick. All of our locations are approximately 15 minutes from Passaic & Rockland Counties.Â
LOU’s Residential and Day Programs are conveniently located nearby NJ Transit, Bus Routes and Train Stations.
Core Functions:Â
Ensure adequate staffing in the program at all timesÂ
Establish efficient and effective transportation routes to and from residents' homes as well as activities in the community
Responsibilities:Â
Responsible for all logistical aspects and operations of Life Opportunities Unlimited’s Day Program and the clients who participate in these programs
Work directly under the supervision of the Director of Day Program Services
Manage and supervise staff to ensure all policies, procedures, and staffing requirements set by upper management, New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, and Medicaid are followedÂ
Maintain all client and program records, including but not limited to each individual’s: progress notes, individual plans, facility records, and vehicle recordsÂ
Assisting in the day program following the established budget guidelinesÂ
Responsible for all program facilities, vehicles, and assetsÂ
Work within the preset budgetÂ
Act as a liaison between the Central Office, Group Homes, Families/Guardians, and Support CoordinatorsÂ
Collaborate with Support Coordinators, Job Coaches, Therapists, and all parties involved in each client’s life to meet their evolving needsÂ
Attend all ISP meetings, company events, and organization-provided training sessions as directedÂ
Treat all clients and fellow staff with dignity and respectÂ
Complete ad hoc projects as necessaryÂ
Responsible for trainings and conducting regular staff meetings for all program staffÂ
Maintain a positive and harmonious environment at all timesÂ
Responsible for creating efficient transportation schedules for program participants, and when necessary, physically transporting clients in a company vehicleÂ
Responsible for managing staffs’ schedules, PTO approval, training staff, reviewing performance, etc.Â
Provide assistance in personal hygiene care, when necessaryÂ
Monitor and properly administer medication in accordance with training and proceduresÂ
Implement new skill development strategies for individual client growthÂ
Advocate for participants’ self-expression and communicationÂ
Follow through on any and all established behavior plansÂ
Cooperate with the licensee and Department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Requirements:Â
BS/BA or equivalent preferred but not required
1-3 years of management or leadership experienceÂ
Must be 18 years or olderÂ
Strong computer skillsÂ
Successful administrative experience in a fast-paced environmentÂ
Prior experience with complex calendar managementÂ
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Â
Experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc.)Â
Proven professional written and verbal communication skillsÂ
Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s LicenseÂ
Must be able to successfully complete all NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities mandated trainings within the first 120 days of employmentÂ
The requirements for checks of Criminal Background, Central Registry, Child Abuse Registry, and Drug Testing must be completed prior to working with any clients in the Day Program or Residential Program

Compensation:
$50,000 - $60,000 annually
