Randall Fire Protection isseeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Electrician with LowVoltage Controls experience to install, maintain, and repair firealarm systems and control systems and related equipment on projectthroughout Central Florida.
Position Summary
The technician will ensure that allsystems are functional, compliant with codes, and meet safety standards. Thisrole requires experience in installing electrical conduit, wiring (Rough In)and understanding low voltage installation for fire alarm systems and controls(HVAC), excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining thesafety of occupants and property.
Essential Functions
- Installation of electrical conduits(EMT, FLEX, MC, RIGID,) Bending EMT Conduit, Installation of junction boxes,unistruts, conduit hangers and all related tasks for Rough In and pullingwires.
- Installation of enclosure, panelboxes/cabinets, raceways, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints,schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of workperformed, assessment information (panels and devices brands and models).
- Collaborate with contractors,electricians, and building officials during installations or renovations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state,and federal fire safety regulations
- Installation of field devices for firealarm and building automation systems related components (e.g., smokedetectors, pull stations, control panels, signaling devices, relays).
- Diagnose system malfunctions andperform necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Be able to identify preventivemaintenance and service.
- Read and interpret blueprints,schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of workperformed, assessment information (panels and devices brands and models).
- Collaborate with contractors,electricians, and building officials during installations or renovations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state,and federal fire safety regulations.
DesiredQualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fully fluent in English. (Speaking,Writing, Reading)
- Minimum 3 years (or formal educationequivalent) of electrical experience (120v), installation (Rough in, Conduitinstallation (Bending EMT), Wiring).
- Strong troubleshooting andproblem-solving skills.
- Controls installation andtroubleshooting is a plus.
- Fire alarm installation andtroubleshooting is a plus.
- Own and safely use hand and powertools and electrical tools (e.g. Drill, Impact, Multimeter, Hi/Low VoltageDetector, etc.)
- Valid driver's license with a cleandriving record.
- Good communication and customerservice skills. You will be the face and voice of the company when working inthe field.
- Ability to work independently withminimal supervision and manage multiple tasks on the job site.
- OSHA 10 / 30 Certification (Is a plus,not required)
Physical Requirements
This is primarily a field or jobsitejob. You must be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50pounds and stand on your feet for several hours at a time. You must also be able to bend,stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job, beable to respond quickly to sounds, see and respond to dangerous situations, andproperly wear personal protective gear.
