Role Overview

 


The Global Sourcing Intern will support the Tactical Buying team by assisting with procurement operations, supply chain data management, supplier coordination, and reporting activities. This internship offers hands-on experience in sourcing, purchasing, ERP systems, and procurement analytics while providing exposure to global supply chain practices and strategic sourcing initiatives.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

  • Assist with the tactical execution of sourcing strategies for assigned commodities
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules
  • Support communication and coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and facilitate the return of defective items
  • Perform audits of purchasing-related master data, including materials, vendors, and purchasing information records
  • Identify data discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date information in SAP and other ERP systems
  • Collect, analyze, and report procurement performance data
  • Create reports and dashboards related to key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, purchase order cycle time, and cost savings
  • Assist in preparing presentations and procurement performance summaries for internal stakeholders
  • Create and maintain purchasing information records in SAP
  • Ensure the accuracy of vendor pricing, lead times, and sourcing information
  • Coordinate with buyers and suppliers to validate purchasing information record data
  • Provide administrative support for sourcing activities and tactical buyer responsibilities
  • Support special projects and additional sourcing initiatives as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Education

 

 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis techniques
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
