Randall Construction Holdings iscurrently seeking a top-tier Senior Accountant to work in our Apopka,FL Headquarters. We are excited about this important role andare determined to consider the best and brightest candidates who meet ourrequirements.
PositionSummary:
Our Senior Accountant must beable to effectively communicate the results of their entries, providingexplanations and support for booked amounts. Each month, there is a financialstatement close process, and the accountant must meet all related deadlines.During the remaining portion of each month, the accountants will work onvarious projects, which may include reconciling all assigned balance sheetclasses, working with internal and external auditors, preparing and submittingall forms related to tax, corporate, regulatory, and community benefits.
Reporting to the Controller, theSenior Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly financial close forassigned Randall entities, preparing journal entries and accountreconciliations, maintaining supporting schedules, and assisting with constructionWIP, job-cost, intercompany, fixed-asset, and financial-reporting activities.This position partners with accounting, project management, and operations toensure financial information is accurate, timely, properly supported, andcompliant with GAAP and company policies.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, payroll allocations, and other recurring entries.
- Maintain supporting schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and other assigned accounts.
- Reconcile intercompany activity among assigned entities and resolve differences before month-end close.
- Reconcile job-cost reports to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly WIP preparation, including contract values, pending change orders, costs incurred, cost to complete, earned revenue, billings, and over/under billings.
- Partner with project managers and operations personnel to resolve job-cost, billing, and project-closeout issues.
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies
- Review existing financial processes and procedures and develop recommendations for improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain proper internal controls in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and company standards.
- Perform special projects, studies, and other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
DesiredQualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financerequired.
- Strong experience in CommercialConstruction Accounting.
- Solid leadership skills.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong job cost and general accounting skills.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills that reflect the ability to analyze a broad range of issues and provide solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to prepare compelling presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats including individually and in group settings.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus).
PhysicalRequirements:
This is primarily an office positionand, as such, you must be able to sit up to six or morehours in an eight-hour workday, lift light objects such as files and paperworkfrequently during the day, and objects weighing up to 10 pounds occasionallyduring the day. You must also be able to bend,stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job.
