Position Summary

The Blow Mold Injection Specialist serves as the technical expert for injection molding equipment and supporting systems. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, optimizing, and improving SIPA injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to maximize production efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability.

This position provides technical leadership by training operators, mechanics, and supervisors while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.


Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on injection molding equipment and support systems.
  • Maintain and optimize SIPA injection molding machines consisting of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
  • Support OEM integrations, upgrades, and system improvements.

Injection Molding Expertise

  • Troubleshoot and optimize injection molding processes for quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Maintain mold systems, including hot runners, cold halves, and related mold components.
  • Identify wear patterns and component failures through detailed inspection and product analysis.
  • Monitor and support resin handling systems, material dryers, blending systems, dehumidification equipment, cooling systems, and conveying systems.
  • Assist with material processing and resin management activities to ensure consistent product quality.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with OEM integrations and equipment support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with SIPA injection molding equipment.
  • Experience with injection molding material processing, resin handling systems, and resin dryers.
  • PLC certifications or formal technical education.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting Rockwell Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
  • Advanced knowledge of mold maintenance, hot runner systems, and injection molding process optimization.
  • Experience working with high-speed manufacturing and packaging environments.
