This position is to greet, check-in and register patients who have arrived at our imaging facility toÂ
have their radiologic procedure or test.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• In a polite, prompt and helpful manner, greet, check-in and register patients who arrive toÂ
our facility for their scheduled appointment or those who are walk-in patients.
• Verifies that the patient has brought all of the required information for their exam:
➢ prescription for the procedure(s) (look in system for a copy if they didn’tÂ
bring it)
➢ authorization or referral if the procedure requires it
➢ collect outside images that will be used for comparison
➢ insurance card & driver’s license for ID
• Ask and verify that the patient did do the prep for their exam if required.
• Contact referring physician’s office if patient arrives without prescription or referral.
• Scan the required documents into the system on their account for retrieval.
• If the patient is returning and has been a previous patient, update all of their informationÂ
that is already on their account.
• Provide any necessary forms that need to be completed and obtain signatures asÂ
necessary.
• Collects time of service money (co-pays, deductibles and private pay), prepares receipt,Â
records in system under visit tab.
• Function in a team environment and assist other team members when needed.
• Others duties may be required, but not limited to; answering the phone, escortingÂ
patient to exam room, and scheduling or rescheduling of patient’s exams.

Education / Experience:
• Minimum of one-year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.Â
Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Must have computer and phoneÂ
experience.
• High school graduate or GED preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Proficient in computer software and excellent typing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous working experience in customer service, preferably in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and company policies including safety,Â
privacy and HIPAA.
• Problem solving techniques and skills.
• Able to communicate clearly to establish cooperative relationships with patients,Â
families, physicians and team members, and create a pleasant waiting roomÂ
atmosphere.
• Previous office or call center experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of some medical terminology and radiology procedures, preferred.
