The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of Finance, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Program Management, Human Resources, Purchasing and IT.   Position Summary The HR Generalist supports the Corporate HR team by assisting with various human resources functions, including recruitment, data management and compliance tasks. This role also handles payroll coordination for hourly associates for our Hazel Park - Michigan plant location, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Additionally, the HR Generalist serves as a reliable backup for salary payroll. This role helps keep operations running smoothly across multiple HR functions.    Key Roles and Responsibilities Recruitment Support: Conduct recruitment efforts, including reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and assisting in the hiring and onboarding process.  Immigration/Visa Processing: Support immigration-related tasks, including documentation for work authorization with legal counsel as needed Employee Engagement & Activities: Plan and execute employee events to foster a positive workplace culture.  HRIS Management: Maintain and audit employee records in the HRIS system as needed to ensure accuracy, data integration, and timely updates across employee lifecycle events.  Payroll Processing: Responsible for processing weekly payroll for hourly employees for the Hazel Park - Michigan plant location. Also serve as a backup for corporate salary payroll processing during absence or peak periods.  Office & Facility Support: Order and manage office supplies for the Hazel Park-Michigan facility and act as a backup for facility management coordination (e.g., maintenance requests, vendor communications) Unemployment Insurance Agency Correspondence: Respond to unemployment claims and coordinate with third party providers to ensure timely and accurate information is submitted. Employee Surveys: Coordinate and administer employee surveys, gather and analyze feedback.  Employee Relations: Conduct investigations, resolve workplace conflicts, support with employee performance matters.  Reporting: Maintain and prepare accurate reports including headcount, KPIs, trend analysis, etc.  Training: Coordinate and support employee training and programs. Create and conduct companywide trainings.  Health & Safety: Support continuous improvement of the organization’s workplace health and safety programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct routine workplace safety inspection and audits. Assist with emergency preparedness activities.  Other duties as assigned. Qualifications  Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources is required. Functional Experience 3-5 years of experience in a human resources function is required. Knowledge of HR laws and regulations. HR reporting, workforce analytics, and KPI tracking.
