Role Mission

The Civil Project Manager builds possibility by protecting and growing Hewitt Young’s profitability through precise execution, financial discipline, and leadership. Their number one job is to turn awarded projects into earned gross profit delivering every job safely, on schedule, and within budget while developing teams who can do the same.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Manage project financials: budgets, forecasting, billing, and cash flow to meet GP goals.
  • Plan and execute projects from turnover through closeout, ensuring results match estimates.
  • Track hours, production, and expenses to protect profitability.
  • Lead risk management and change order strategy to recover or enhance margin.
  • Partner with Foremen and Operations to align field performance with financial targets.
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, maintaining transparency and trust.
  • Mentor team members and build future leaders who understand the business of construction.

  • Proven ability to manage profit and cash flow.
  • Strong forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting skills.
  • Command of project scheduling and manpower planning.
  • Clear, confident communication with clients and crews.
