Audio Visual Programmer
A top audiovisual integrator is seeking an Audio Visual Programmer to join their team. This role is focused on AVL-C system design, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on AV experience and the ability to bridge the gap between sales, design, installation, and customer training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design complete Audio, Video, Lighting, and Control (AVL-C) systems based on customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Design, and Project Management teams to develop functional system solutions.
- Create system drawings, signal flow diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment lists.
- Conduct site surveys and provide technical recommendations based on project requirements.
- Develop and implement AV control system programming, primarily using Q-SYS Designer and IP-based platforms.
- Troubleshoot, commission, test, and optimize AV systems during and after installation.
- Review SOWs and system designs to ensure proper installation and system compatibility.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams during project execution.
- Support AV installation activities, including low-voltage cabling, equipment connections, and system setup as needed.
- Provide on-site technical leadership and training for technicians.
- Finalize system documentation and ensure a smooth handoff from installation to service.
- Train customers, end users, staff, and technicians on installed systems.
- Assist with advanced service calls and escalated technical issues.
- Stay current with emerging AV technologies, programming platforms, and industry best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Audio, Video, Lighting, and Control (AVL-C) system design and installation.
- Strong hands-on experience with AV system programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Q-SYS design and programming experience is required.
- Strong understanding of IP-based AV systems and networking concepts.
- Ability to read and create schematics, signal flow diagrams, cable schedules, and system documentation.
- Experience with AV design and engineering tools such as Q-SYS Designer, D-Tools, Visio, ArrayCalc, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of how AV systems and components work together as an integrated system.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Comfortable working both in the field and in a design/engineering environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with Sales, Design, Project Management, technicians, and customers.
- Ability to provide technical training and support to customers and installation teams.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and project locations as needed.
