Position Summary

The Production Assembler is responsible for assembling HVAC equipment and components according to engineering specifications, production schedules, and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to safely use hand and power tools, and a commitment to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble HVAC units, subassemblies, and components using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Install mechanical and electrical components, including wiring, motors, fans, coils, compressors, and controls as required.
  • Inspect parts and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or production concerns to supervisors.
  • Perform functional testing and basic troubleshooting of assembled products when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S and company safety practices.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Accurately complete production documentation and quality records.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Cross-train in multiple assembly stations as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred; HVAC manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read measuring devices, assembly instructions, and basic blueprints.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions using hands and arms.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with HVAC equipment assembly or sheet metal fabrication.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience using torque tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Forklift certification (preferred but not required).
