Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design for healthcare, education, and commercial building projects. This position will be responsible for HVAC system design, engineering calculations, construction documentation, and coordination from concept through construction. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of building systems experience and be capable of independently managing technical responsibilities while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems for healthcare, K-12, higher education, and commercial facilities.
  
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, system selection, and related mechanical engineering calculations.
  
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop HVAC plans, specifications, details, schedules, and construction documents.
  
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
  
• Support projects through design development, construction administration, site visits, and resolution of field-related issues.
  
• Communicate directly with clients and project teams while managing assigned engineering tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
  

 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  
• 3+ years of applicable professional HVAC and mechanical building systems design experience
  
• Experience designing HVAC systems for healthcare, K-12, higher education, commercial, or similar facilities.
  
• Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, load calculations, system selection, applicable codes, and construction documentation.
  
• EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with remote teams, and travel to project sites and Syracuse as needed.
