Job Summary

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing facility infrastructure and support systems within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures building systems, utilities, and production support equipment operate safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, electrical distribution, and lighting.
  • Maintain and repair building infrastructure such as doors, docks, floors, walls, and roofing systems.
  • Monitor and maintain utility systems (boilers, chillers, air compressors, water systems).
  • Troubleshoot facility-related mechanical and electrical issues impacting production.
  • Support installation and relocation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain facility maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs and inspections.
  • Assist with emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.
  • 2+ years of facility maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems (120V–480V), plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, machinery, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires standing, climbing ladders, and working around operating production equipment.
  • PPE required (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, etc.).

Monday thru Thursday 6:00 am - 3:30 pm
Friday 6:00 am - 11:00 am
