Time Commitment & Hour Requirements Weekly Hours: 10–15 hours per week Total Hours: 150–180 hours per semester (aligned with SUNY EOP requirements) Schedule determined in coordination with supervisor Job Statement The Receiving Clerk Intern supports the daily operations of the MCC Bookstore by assisting with order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory processing for textbooks, clothing, and gift merchandise. Specific Functions & Responsibilities Sort orders by location and payment type Pick, fulfill, and process orders Prepare and box orders for pickup or shipping Unpack and process incoming shipments Stock merchandise and maintain organized inventory areas Assist with store pickup order management Perform additional duties as assigned Learning Outcomes (SUNY EOP Aligned) Demonstrate effective professional communication skills Apply time management and organizational skills in a workplace setting Develop knowledge of retail inventory and logistics operations Provide quality customer service Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy Apply problem-solving skills and initiative Exhibit professionalism and workplace responsibility Explore career interests in retail, logistics, or business Supervision & Evaluation Receive ongoing supervision and mentoring from bookstore leadership Mid-semester and final evaluations will assess progress toward learning outcomes Completion of a reflection or summary of learning may be required for EOP QualificationsQualifications EOP student Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong customer service skills Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed
