Position Summary: As a member of the St. John’s Protective Services Team, the Protective Services Officer provides safety and protection to residents, visitors, and employees. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Also conducts checks to ensure the safety of the facility and grounds. Responsibilities include:

Performs all duties of a Protective Services Officer.
Performs Patrols of Campus.
Answers calls for Service.
Investigates complaints.
Responds to medical and fire alarms.
Prepares logs and Reports.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Associate's degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or 2 years of directly applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification preferred.
NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience required.
Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.
Basic computer knowledge.
At least 1 year of security or public safety work preferred.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
